National Construction Week will take place across the UK between 8th and 12th October. The aim of this not for profit week is to inform young people and their influencers about the many and varied careers available in The Modern Construction Industry and to give Industry an opportunity to engage with young people.
Whilst Construction Skills will organise 66 events plus a launch event, we need the help of the Industry and the Education Sector to hold events (with our advice and support where required). All we ask is that your event is registered on this website.
These events can range from work shadowing, car finance taster days, a talk in school, a site visit to huge design and build challenges for 200 young people! Small local events are just as welcome.
National Construction Week is the UK wide not for profit campaign that gives young people the opportunity to experience the wide range of exciting oppurtunities avaliable in the modern construction industry.
Teachers at nearly 400 schools used the website to help deliver the Design and Technology curriculum in a new and exciting way. 100 schools from every part of the UK submitted proposals for improvements to their learning environment.
The 12 finalists were judged by the national judging panel and Monkseaton Community School in Whitley Bay were chosen as the national winner. They will receive the prize of £50,000 of construction improvements to their school, based on their designs for innovatine hi-tech toilet pods. Click here for the UK’s Construction Week.
